Miguel Poveda (accompanied by the guitar of Jesús Guerrero) and Federico García Lorca with his magnum opus Poema del cante jondo, a captivating lyrical distillation of flamenco art. In his new album, which will be released this coming Friday, the cantaor from Badalona delves into the poetic abyss of García Lorca for “an intimate encounter with the roots of flamenco,” according to the promotional leaflet for the album, which concludes: in Poema del cante jondo, we will meet “the Miguel who is more cantaor than ever.”
Last year, at the Fòrum, we had a small preview. Now, this autumn, Poveda returns with an album that, all indications suggest, will endure over time as a reference work.
